The Meskhetian Turks were deported from Georgia by Stalin in 1944, forced out of Uzbekistan in the late 1980s and settled in the Krasnodar region, Russia, where most have not been granted passports or residence. They can not officially work, receive medical treatment, marry or go to school. |
